No Nonsense Honest Roof Inspections
In recent times unscrupulous roof restoration firms have made a business out of scaring customers into having their roofs restored. A common tactic is to knock on a homeowner’s door and tell them that their roof is old and as a result absorbs water when it rains. They advise that this extra weight has the potential to cause a roof collapse.
In truth a modern roof tile manufactured to AS 2049 is only allowed to absorb a maximum of 10% of its own weight in water after total immersion and this absorption rate does not change greatly over time. Roof tiles are a very durable roofing material and usually come with a 50 year product warrant. In most cases the only reason you will want to restore your roof will be for purely aesthetic reasons.
